I had a wonderful and rewarding time on the Sedona retreat, It gave me a few great  experiences which lead to a shift in consciousness. Sharon was wonderful, very professional and she certainly has the perfect personality for this type of venue. Everyone was in harmony which made the retreat comfortable and fun. I would recommend this as a great spiritual journey. Thank you Sharon you made this a wonderful memory.

A most amazing trip from beginning to end.  Sharon our Lifestyle Journeys guide was a beautiful person, full of fun, laughter and just so obliging and keen to make sure that we were all happy; and had everything so well organized with the other local guides.  Such an unusual journey and meeting and travelling with the Hopi and Navajo guides on the mesas/reservations, eating with their families and dancing with them.  Such beauty along the journey, both relaxing in comfortable transport or nature walking.  Overnight solo night in the Canyon was extraordinary, seeing the beautiful stars and moon and alone with nature.  Thank you for this experience.

Colleen Costello

This was an incredible journey into native american lands, culture, and ceremonies. From Sedona to the Hopi and Navajo lands, the entire tour was an amazing experience.

Can a single traveller have the option of paying a share twin cost?

We will endeavor to match those tour participants who wish to share a room however this is subject to availability. If there is no match possible the single supplement will need to be collected.

What standard of accommodation can you expect?

While in Sedona we stay at the Sedona Motel which is a moderate standard of accommodation. It is very well located and also has kitchenette facilities which means you have the option to cater for yourselves rather than having to eat out every night.

We spend one night at the Hopi mesa where we stay in a standard 2-3 star hotel for the night and while in Canyon de Chelly we stay on private Navajo land in a camp environment where you will have your own individual tent with bedding roll.

What meals are included?

There is a selection of meals included mainly while we are up on the mesa and in the canyon.

We share meals with the Hopi people while on their land and in the canyon all meals are catered for camp style. A welcome and farewell dinner is included while in Sedona and the remainder of the time in Sedona is self catering. There are many restaurants to choose from and also a fabulous organic supermarket with a great selection of food items.

What will the weather be like?

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 14 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius over the month of June. There is also the possibility of some rainfall during this time of year. Crisp and cool in the early hours of the morning, heating up to warm days and cooling down in the evening.

A moderate level of fitness is required especially  if you choose to spend some of your free time hiking in and around the vortex sites in Sedona. We do walk in and out of Canyon de Chelly when we participate in the earth medicine retreat. The canyon floor is flat so the walk is graded as easy. An overall moderate fitness level will certainly make it more enjoyable all round.

What sort of spiritual preparation is required for the Hopi/Navajo Earth Medicine Retreat?

First of all your INTENTION needs to be set as to what you wish to accomplish through participating in the retreat. The challenge for people living in modern cultures today is to clear the mind, let the static go, to move into a heart-centered place of deep connectedness to source.

You will have this opportunity from the moment you make the decision to truly participate. Something inside is longing to see the bigger picture of who you are…maybe eagle has been coming in your dreams, calling you out to the silence of the desert. You know you are not expressing your fire; there is a longing that is calling you to be more than you know you are. In your prayers you might ask the spirits of these primordial canyon and plateau landscapes and Ancient ones to prepare a place for you, to help you connect even before you come.

We recommend that you take time to detox prior to arriving in Sedona. The clearer and lighter you are with fewer toxins the easier it is to connect to source.  Making the commitment to reduce your coffee, alcohol and sugar intake is the first step. Practicing meditation daily and journaling your thoughts leading up to the tour is very beneficial as well.

General  fitness will make the time in Sedona more comfortable along with getting the most out of exploring the vortex sites and beautiful canyons so a walking program prior to leaving can help as well.

What mode of transport is required?

We have an 8 -12 seater mini van during our time in Sedona and surrounding areas.

What is the minimum number of participants required for the tour to go ahead?

6

What is the maximum number of participants allowed on the tour?

12

What should you allow for a daily budget to cover additional expenses?

There is a selection of meals that you will need to cater for.  If you were to eat out for these meals to follow is a guideline on what you should budget Breakfast: USD $10.00 Lunch: USD $20.00 Dinner: USD $30.00.

You will not be eating out for every meal though so this cost will reduce. We would recommend a budget of USD $100.00 per day which will cover meals and any incidentals such as a glass of wine, or a massage along with some left over for shopping.

What is a typical day like?

This will vary depending on where we are.  While in Sedona half of the day will be in workshop style (some of this is optional) and the other half will be free time to explore the town itself which has so much to offer by way of hiking, pampering and not to mention the incredible array of art galleries, metaphysical shops and crystal collections.

The workshops in Sedona are setting the intention around how you will participate in the Earth Medicine Retreat. There will be drumming work, meditation and teachings around the traditional native American way of life and ceremonies. While on the earth medicine retreat which commences the moment we leave Sedona for the Hopi Mesa the days will vary depending on who we are visiting however there is great opportunity for spiritual growth over this time as we immerse ourselves into the native American culture participating in ceremonies and learning the ancient ways from our Hopi and Navajo guides.

It is not compulsory however we highly recommend you budget approx 5.00 USD per day as a tip for the guide.  This work is seasonal and they do rely on the tips as part of their overall earning capacity.  Our guide is so wonderful you will be very happy to reward him and support him in this way we are sure.
